My school benefits from the Sung Biela Foundation education enhancement project to support deprived schools and students in improving teaching and learning. The support to the school has been tremendously helpful to both teachers and students, and it has enhanced their studies, fostering a conducive environment for growth and development. The generous donation included textbooks, mathematical sets, sanitary pads, marker boards, footballs, and jerseys. In particular, the provision of footballs and jerseys sparked a wave of enthusiasm among our students,
propelling our school team to victory at the 2022 Basic Schools Circuit Champions for the Urban D Circuit. Furthermore, our students achieved an impressive 83 percent in the same year’s BECE Examination, a testament to their dedication and support from the Sung Biela Foundation. May Allah bless your endeavors and sustain your noble mission as we express our deepest gratitude. Ameen.
I am from Binduri District and a proud beneficiary of the Sung Biela Foundation. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Foundation for its significant impact on my life and educational journey. The Foundation has supported me comprehensively, covering my educational expenses, including school fees and meals, from my final year in Junior High School to my current studies at the University of Ghana, Legon. The Sung Biela Foundation donated to my school during my time in Senior High School, providing each student with a pack of provisions. This act of kindness was incredibly meaningful to me, as I come from a disadvantaged background.
The Foundation also provided me with clothing, which was a huge relief and brought me great joy. Without the support of the Sung Biela Foundation, I am unsure where I would be today.
My education started at Winamzua School in Bawku but was interrupted in primary four due to blindness. After ten years out of school, I attended Wa School for the Blind. Despite economic challenges,
the Sung Biela Foundation supported me through junior high and senior high school, which I completed in 2020 and 2023, respectively. Now, I am pursuing a Social Studies program at the University of Education, Winneba, thanks to the foundation’s continuous support with educational materials, provisions, and transportation.
Their assistance has transformed my life and enabled me to pursue my dreams. I am deeply grateful to the foundation for their invaluable support and positive impact on my academic journey.
I encountered the Sung Biela Foundation when I got blocked up in my university education as a continuing student in level 300 due to unpaid tuition fees, and the institution compelled me to defer my studies forcefully. In this challenging time, a friend recommended I contact the Sung Biela Foundation because it is an NGO committed to education, healthcare, and community development in Ghana. After contacting the foundation and explaining my situation, I was instructed by the CEO to apply for assistance with all necessary documentation to prove my status and predicament.
Upon reviewing my application and verifying my circumstances, the Sung Biela Foundation graciously paid my outstanding fees, enabling me to resume my education and continue toward graduation. This intervention by the foundation profoundly impacted my life, alleviating my financial burden, and I returned to school.
Our school in the Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region faces significant challenges due to its remote location and poor road conditions. Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised when the Sung Biela Foundation reached out to support us. Our school lacked essential resources like library books, textbooks, marker boards, sanitary pads, exercise books, toiletries, footballs, and other teaching materials. The foundation’s annual donations have provided much-needed relief and empowerment for teachers and students. These contributions have significantly improved literacy, with many students reading fluently and developing a strong interest in reading. The sports equipment has reduced truancy and increased school enrollment, even during the farming season.
We are deeply grateful to the foundation and its donors for their continued support, which has transformed our school and inspired a brighter future for our students.
School Management, Staff, Students, and Parent Association extend our profound gratitude to the Sung Biela Foundation Ghana for their immense support rendered to the school on July 3, 2023.
The teaching and learning materials offered to the school have tremendously enhanced learning outcomes, fostering a love for reading among our students, as evidenced by an appreciable number of the students’ enthusiastic participation in reading competitions, quizzes, and Spelling Bees. The Common Core program pamphlets have also greatly aided our teachers in delivering effective lessons and addressing a lack of relevant teaching aids. Thus, learners request that novels and other books be read willingly with little or no persuasion. Furthermore, donating footballs has revitalized our sports activities, bringing joy and energy to our school grounds. We sincerely appreciate the Sung Biela Foundation’s enormous support of the school.
